Vogue Italia's "Haute Mess" editorial (photographed by Steven Meisel for the March 2012 issue) is highly controversial even though it only parodies a certain stereotype. The controversy is because it parodies the "ghetto" stereotype which others think is racist. The video features models Joan Smalls, Coco Rocha, Karen Elson, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Guinevere Van Seenus, Daphne Groeneveld, Jessica Stam and Lindsey Wixson with styling by fashion editor Lori Goldstein.

Vogue Italia is no stranger to controversy and the editorial "Haute Mess" is the latest addition to their list. The editorial features models Joan Smalls, Karen Elson, Jessica Stam, Guinevere Van Seenus, Lindsey Wixson, Daphne Groeneveld, Coco Rocha and Abbey Lee Kershaw in over the top hair, make-up and fashion. Fashion editor Lori Goldstein styled the models while photographer Steven Meisel captured the images for the magazine's March 2012 issue.

Vogue Italia says that the inspiration for the shoot are "messy drag queens" while others think that they're poking fun at the "ghetto" stereotype on black people. What do you think?

Flare and Elle Canada January 2012

The Japanese aren't the only one who got an early start with releasing their January 2012 covers to the World Wide Web. Canada's fashion magazine, Flare, is also gearing up for the new year with the beautiful Jessica Stam on the cover. Elle Canada, on the other hand, has the talented Kate Beckinsale as their covergirl.

Jessica is wearing a purple dress by Tom Ford on Flare's cover. Shot by Max Abadian and styled by Elizabeth Cabral, this Canadian beauty is set to rock the newsstands on December 5.

 

Kate Beckinsale is shot by the photography duo Bleacher + Everard for Elle Canada's January cover. Taylor Jacobson styled the British actress in this white lace dress from Chanel's Resort 2012 collection.
